Mar Cruz, an Afro-Puerto Rican woman, finds strength, healing and black pride in the tradition of Bomba, a rhythm and dance form created by Africans in the 1600’s. Through Bomba, Mar Cruz connects with her roots, transforms, and heals the Afro-latinidad movement, shifting societal beauty standards.
